While not representing any specific sexual orientation or gender identity, the Leather, Latex and BDSM Pride Flag has been used by the leather subculture since the 90s and was quickly embraced by the gay leather community, signifying pride for the BDSM and fetish subculture.
This flag was designed by Tony DeBlase in 1989, who was repeatedly asked to explain the meaning behind the colours and design, but refused. In his words: “I will leave it to the viewer to interpret the colors and symbols”.
